BIO

This porteña tango dancer, born in Buenos Aires in 1985, has been connected to the world of dance since her childhood. Gaby’s first steps were based in jazz and sports aerobics, and she later moved into different international rhythms such as hip hop, salsa, axè, theater dance and lindy hop. At the age of 21, moved by the intention of learning more about her own culture and traditions, she discovered tango, and with it, her true passion and vocation. She started studying with different tango teachers in several schools in order to find her own style. Amongst her teachers, Chicho Frúmboli and Juana Sepúlveda, Alejandro Larenas and Marisol Morales, Bruno Tombari and Rocío Lequio, Pablo Rodríguez y Corina Herrera, Moria Castellano, Dana Frígoli and Corina de la Rosa stand out.

After earning a degree in pharmacy from the University of Buenos Aires, Gaby decided that her true professional path was definitively bound together with dancing and so she became fully dedicated and committed to teaching and dancing tango. Since then, she has been giving regular lessons at different milongas in Buenos Aires, such as the well-known Viva la Pepa Milonga, La Mandrilera Milonga and La María Milonga, of which she has also been co-creator and organizer. She is now also working with regular Tango lessons along with Natalia Viola in their DaleTango project.

Apart from her experience as a teacher, Gaby has performed at several milongas, including Milonga 10, Maldita Milonga and La Mandrilera Milonga with Flaqui Figueroa.

With Guillermo Cerneaz, her current dancing partner, Gaby has participated in San Miguel Tango Festival 2015 in Mexico and in Portland Tango Festival 2015, Salt Lake City Summer Tango Festival 2016 and Natural Tango Festival 2016 in the USA. They have also given Tango Workshops and performed in several cities in the US, incluiding San Diego, Chicago, Boston, NYC, Minneapolis, Boulder and Seattle.

As a tango teacher, Gaby is fresh and relaxed, prioritizing the students’ comfort during the process and making for an enjoyable experience. At the same time that she deepens the technical aspects of this dance for the students, she also emphasizes the social side of it, its improvisation essence and the connection with another, imparting useful tools for applying at the milonga.

She is a passionate dancer, joyful and intense, combining her milonguera embrace along with strength and technique to build up the Tango Argentino performer that she is.
